Joss Whedon Officially Directing The Avengers

Joss Whedon “officially” announced at Comic-Con yesterday that he has signed on to direct The Avengers.  We all knew this was happening, but it’s the first real confirmation we’ve gotten.  Whedon has so much geek cred that this is going to get alot of people even more excited about the film, but we still don’t know what he can do.  Serenity was definitely an underrated film commercially, but The Avengers will be the biggest project he’s ever directed.  I’m excited to see him show people what he’s really made of.
