Stanley Tucci signs on for Captain America

Stanley Tucci has signed on to portray Dr. Abraham Erskine in “Captain America: The First Avenger”.  Tucci was most recently nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of George Harvey in Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones”.  You can find the official press release on the casting here.  Erskine is best known as the scientist that creates & injects Steve Rogers with the super soldier serum that turns him into Captain America.  He will most likely only appear in the first act of the film as he dies right after injecting Rogers with the serum.  That is if they stick with the original telling of the origin.  You can read a little bit more on Dr. Abraham Erksine here.
