Alice Eve & Malin Akerman duking it out for coveted female role in “The Avengers”?

Not in real life, of course – but our insider is reporting the two actresses are on pins and needles and one is getting very close to booking the role of a sought after female heroine role in Marvel’s upcoming “The Avengers” live action film due out in 2012.

Which female character could we see one of them potentially play? This is just speculation but we’re guessing it’s for Wasp, or S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Carol Danvers or Sharon Carter. Our source also mentioned, “Marvel is searching for the perfect candidate for this particular role. They are important in their universe and whichever actress gets cast will potentially have the largest female role in the film.” Since Joss Whedon is set to direct, we’re sure whichever female is in the lead role will surely kick some ass.

Who would you prefer for this role?

    My money is on Danvers.

I agree… this role being for Carol Danvers AKA Ms. Marvel.

I do think the possiblity of Wasp being in the movie is good but, not a major role.

They are both pretty but I have not seen Alice Eve act in anything. Is she any good?

For the role of Ms. Marvel, they are both breathtaking. I think Alice Eve LOOKS more like Ms. Marvel, however.
