Iron Man 2 Party Scene and Whiplash Rumors

io9.com posted one strange and one not so strange rumor late last week and I wasn’t sure if I should post them here, but after thinking about it, why not. The first rumor is about a dance scene in the movie. According to a witness, there is a large party scene which features DJ AM as the DJ and Tony Stark busting out moves while in the Iron Man suit. I don’t know what to think of this one, it sounds too much like the stupid emo dance scenes from Spider-Man 3. Do we really need to see Iron Man dancing around to some random techno music to advance the storyline? I guess maybe if he’s really hammered and they tie it in with that storyline, but even still it seems like a pretty ridiculous scene to throw in the movie, but maybe I’m wrong.

The other rumor is about Mickey Rourke and his Whiplash character. Apparently while filming the 2nd fight scene between Whiplash and Iron Man, Rourke was scene wearing tracking balls as well as the Whiplash suit we have seen him wearing in other pictures. This has lead people to believe that there will be some CGI added to Rourke in post production, possibly him wearing the full Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo armor.

Now take these rumors with a grain of salt, they were submitted to Comic Book Movie by an anonymous tipster so I have my doubts, at least about the first one, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see, it could be kind of amusing to see a drunken Iron Man dancing around a party though, trying to throw shots into his metal mouth…
