Terrence Howard Doesn’t Seem Too Happy

In a radio interview on NPR over the weekend, Terrence Howard was asked about Jim Rhodes being re-cast in the upcoming Iron Man sequel.  Needless to say, he doesn’t seem pleased with how it all went down.

“It was the surprise of a lifetime [finding out that Cheadle has taken over the role]. There was no explanation. I read something in the trades that implicated it was about money or something but apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren’t worth the paper that they’re printed on. And promises aren’t kept.”

It was originally reported that the re-casting had to do with the actor wanting more money for the second film.  Even if this is the case, doesn’t he deserve it?  He’s a great actor that everybody liked in the role.  Not too mention that Jim Rhodes is going to get alot more screentime in the sequel when he takes on the War Machine persona.  It does suck for continutiy’s sake that he won’t be returning, but Don Cheadle is a great actor and it’ll be interesting to see if he vibes with Robert Downey Jr.
