Don Cheadle To Play Jim Rhodes In Iron Man 2

It seems as though negotiations with Terrence Howard for Iron Man 2, have fallen through. Howard played Jim Rhodes in the first installment of the series and from what we’re lead to believe, would eventually evolve into the character War Machine. The studio has apparently approached Don Cheadle to fill his shoes. I don’t know how I feel about this. I think Don Cheadle is a great actor, but I hate when studios re-cast a role in such large movies *cough* The Dark Knight *cough*. Yeah, Katie Holmes wasn’t the greatest actress in the world, but I really didn’t like Maggie G’s performance either.

So hopefully Cheadle will be able to pull this off, but I’m not sure. The two actors have such different styles that right now it’s hard to picture Cheadle being able to play the role as well as Howard did. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
