Iron Man 2 begins development

This isn’t very surprising news, or really news at all I guess, but Jon Favreau has stated that he has begun developing Iron Man 2.

I just talked to Jon Favreau a bit ago, and he said that while there hasn’t been an formal announcement on the sequel to “Iron Man,” he’s begun developing it. “We’re working on it now,” he said, “which hasn’t been officially announced. It will be released in 2010.”

Didn’t they “officially” announce that it was coming out in 2010 already? As far as I know, and this site knows, that’s actually the only “official” thing they’ve announced. Well, we’ll take any news we can get considering Iron Man 2 will be the next movie leading up to The Avengers movie. Only preceded by, er, Iron Man 1 (excluding The Incredible Hulk for comic effect :) .

Who do you think the villains gonna be in this one? My bet’s a dead on at Mandarin, although they said it’s gonna take a more serious turn, maybe Ultron? I thought Thor was coming before Avengers, and the Cap movie?

I’m pretty sure it will be the Mandarin. That’s who Favreau wanted to be in the first one and was hinted at with the terrorist group being named the five rings. As for the next movie coming, both Iron Man 2 and Thor are supposed to come out summer 2010. I believe Iron Man 2 will still come out first. Captain America and The Avengers are slated for 2011.
