Robert Downey Jr. stopped by “Regis and Kelly” this morning to promote his new film Tropic Thunder. While there they got on the subject of Iron Man and Downey Jr. hinted that the franchise will go on to complete a trilogy. I would assume that Paramount has RDJ locked into at least a three picture deal, but he said he’d be willing to go beyond a trilogy. Good news for Iron Man fans.

Favreau says he considers the third movie to be The Avengers, since superhero movies typically lose steam after the second.
