American Gladiators “Titan” as Captain America?

Apparently the Gladiator known as “Titan” on the new American Gladiators is in talks with Lionsgate to play Conan in the re-boot of the movie. Titan was on the Todd n Tyler show in Omaha this morning talking about the show and what he’s got going on in his career right now. He also mentioned that he has a casting session for the Captain America movie soon. So keep in mind it’s just a casting session, it’s not like he’s been offered a part (in either movie for that matter), but it does mean that they are moving forward with the movie making process for both Conan and Captain America.

While I think he could get the role for Conan (he certainly looks the part), I don’t think he’ll be our Captain America. After the success of Iron Man, I don’t think that Marvel is going to put the weight of a summer blockbuster on the shoulders of a newcomer. While I’ve never seen Titan act outside of American Gladiators, I don’t think he’d be able to carry the movie and why would Marvel cast a “no-name” in this one when Iron Man and Hulk both got big named stars? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
