Apparently it’s not “official” yet, but Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that Marvel and Favreau have reached a deal for him to come back and direct Iron Man 2 which is said to have a release date of April 30, 2010. Obviously Robert Downey Jr. will be back as Iron Man (since he’s contractually obligated, but why wouldn’t he). Nothing official as far as Terrence Howard and Gwenyth Paltrow being in the sequel, but again, they’d be stupid not to.
This is good news to all the fans of Iron Man, Favreau did a great job with the material and there’s no doubt in my mind that he’s going to do even better with Iron Man 2, now they just need to sign him to do The Avengers movie and we’ll be good.
